After ten years of professional experience, Michael Rex began his own practice in 1983 at the SWA Building in Sausalito. Upon his conversion of the historic Ice House into a design studio in 1985, Michael Rex Associates was formed. Twelve years later, having outgrown the Ice House, the firm moved in August, 1997 to its current home on Sausalito's waterfront at 1750 Bridgeway Boulevard. Working mostly in the Bay Area, projects span from Carmel to the wine country. Projects are diverse, including new custom homes both single and multi-unit residential remodels, retail shops, offices, restaurants, hotels, site planning and custom interiors, lighting and furniture. Architectural styles encompass a broad range, from Victorian to ultra modern. The success of the Michael Rex Associates is based on referrals from satisfied clients and broad contacts developed through community service. After 23 years of service, the firm has established a reputation for creating high quality, well detailed and carefully documented designs, combined with skill in obtaining government approvals. |
